Hi! Welcome to my site. People have been asking me for a long time to put up a place where they could download the songs I record, so here it is. Yeah, it's a basic page. Maybe that'll change eventually, but I don't see the point in flashy graphics or putting a whole lot of work into site design. You're just here for the downloading, right? If you'd like to contact me, email timothy.burke@gmail.com. I have a music myspace. Remember the whole right-click/Control-click thing to download the files. m4a (AAC) files included for you iPodders. WAV for those of you who want to burn CDs and have lots of bandwidth. Click on the song title for a pop-up of the lyrics. |

| Stewardess | Download mp3, AAC, or WAV | length: 2:40 | |
| Shopping Mall | Download mp3, AAC, or WAV | length: 2:57 | |
| Stewardess was written on the flight home from Boston back in November. I performed it that night at the Hangout, but never recorded it. Shopping Mall is something I found in the margins of a notebook from last semester. I don't remember writing it, or what about. | |||

| 40 Days And 40 Nights | Download mp3, AAC, or WAV | length: 3:50 | |
| You might think this song is a reference to Lent, or the length of Josh Hartnett's career. It's neither of those things. I was going for a jazz flavor, but I never really hit that mark. | |||

Download mp3, AAC, or WAV | length: 3:35 | |
| Sometimes, you just record something that really doesn't have any rhyme or reason. This would be one of those recordings. | |||

| 37 (The Hot Dog Song) | Download mp3, AAC, or WAV | length: 2:51 | |
| By request of a promoter I recorded a series of six songs live to two-track which became my first official demo CD. None of the songs had been recorded before; they were all less than six weeks old. Bush Voter and V.D. were written while at Fort DeSoto Beach with Sicky and Jen. Jailbait and Blondie were written just prior to performing at the Pegasus Lounge in late May, Lesbian the week before that, and 37 was written while watching the hot dog contest live on ESPN. An important point: all the songs except V.D. are true. I'll repeat that. V.D. is not a true story. | |||

| Jail | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:06 | |
| I wrote this a few minutes before leaving for a performance at the L.A. Hangout. It's pretty meaningless, and I actually changed the lyrics quite a bit in the drive there. This was something I recorded to try and remember it, and no other reason. I'll share it with you anyway. | |||

| Carolina In My Mind (Cheerleaders) | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:57 | |
| Also written just prior to leaving for a performance and recorded for memory reasons. If you don't recall the events surrounding the topic of this story, read here. I performed this at Fox & Hound one night and Scottish Sean was offended, or at least concerned that I was too "ribald." | |||

| Dinero | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:26 | |
| I was drunk and wanted to write a fictional story for once. I wish I could make this a mariachi song somehow. I know some great trumpet players. | |||

| The Next Best Thing | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:44 | |
| I wrote this song for my friend Leslie. It was originally supposed to be all double-entendres like the first two lines but I decided to go in a different directions. It might be the only song ever written that contains lyrics about both Mr. Pibb. and Israeli Prime Ministers. | |||

| Anime Fan | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:51 | |
| Something silly I adlibbed into my computer mic. I don't know that I've even ever played this live. I like the musical aspect of it, though. 90% of my songs are 4/4 ABAB and this one mixes that up quite a bit. | |||

| Cockblockers | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:30 | |
| Another true story through and through. The first verse is about an incident at Million's Bar in Mt. Lookout, Cincinnati. I was aiming for a Rolling Stones-style with this song. Instead I just ended up with noise. I guess that's what happens when you write songs while driving. | |||

| What The Hell Happened To Jewel? | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:29 | |
| Another adlib into the computer mic. Really not sure what was going on here. It needed to be a few semitones lower in key from the sound of it, too. | |||

| 5. Blondie's Got A Boyfriend | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:13 | |
| 6. Monkeys Coming Out Of Your Ass | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:01 | |
| I was a bit less drunk this time than the previous two I played the Pegasus. I was still pretty drunk, though. I think it's amazing that Bush Voter, V.D., and Blondie had never been played in front of an audience before, and I played them all the same night. Those have turned out to be pretty popular songs. Monkeys is a Steve Poltz song. Note that I screw up all the new songs in some way or another, as I do all new songs. | |||

| Shawn Kemp's My Daddy Blues | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:40 | |
| Many years prior, I wrote a song for Fark called "Fb- is my daddy blues." You'd understand if you're a longtime Farker. I decided the song was good enough that I should adapt it to a wider audience. The song is good; this recording, not so much. | |||

| Haunted | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:47 | |
| I met this girl at the L.A. Hangout. I was drunk, and she was hot. I gave her my number. The song pretty much explains what happened next. | |||

| Fat Girl | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:18 | |
| I was drunk. Give me a break. The music is pretty, for what it's worth. I play the piano way better than I sing while intoxicated. | |||

| Sea | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:32 | |
| Sicky really likes this song. It's very pretty and I think as far as metaphor goes I did an excellent job considering I wrote it while studying for a midterm. This song is about Woke You Up girl, as I was somewhat afraid of her vagina and the diseases I convinced myself it must contain. So yeah, this song is about cooter. Woke You Up girl was a hyperbaric technician, so that's where all the diving/water stuff comes up. | |||
| March 1, 2005 | |||
| The Truth | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 9:40 | |
| Instrumental adlibbed as a recording for a performance I had that night. The piano was live; the organ was dubbed. This recording turned out far better than I expected it to and so I've kept the backing track. In the performance, I talked about self-hate and relationships and an overall disgust toward my relationships, if that helps at all. This might be the strongest (musically) recording I've ever made. (The 6:00 part onward is my favorite.) | |||

| Coffee In Your Cup (Clarissa Song) | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:31 | |
| I wrote this song back in 2002, but never recorded it. It's a pretty intensely personal song, and it's one that probably has gotten the most widespread attention. I had a conversation with the person I wrote this song about that day and so I decided to record it and get it out of my system. The organ solo is the best ever. Yes, I'm aware it sounds like an Old 97's song. That's not intentional. | |||

| Mother's Day (Jennie's Song) | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 3:41 | |
| May 2003. Sitting in a north Cincinnati Waffle House, waiting for Javan to... become less busy, I wrote this song. It was Mother's Day, and I'd just taken Sicky's (now fiancee) home. I love the chorus of this song. It's maybe the best chorus I've ever written. This recording was spur-of-the-moment, and thus pretty rough; Javan asked for a recording and so I pooped one out. I'll make a nicer one someday. This song deserves it. | |||

| I'm not sure what's really going on with this song. I like it, but at the same time, I kind of think it sucks. It's about Woke You Up girl. There's a subtle reference to my buddy Stucco in there, too, and a lot of inside jokes that only I'll get. I think this song would be better if I was a great guitarist like Clapton or John Mayer or something. Ugh, I can't believe I just typed that. Anyway, I think if I go metal with this song and really rock it out I might be able to salvage it someday. Looking at the lyrics, it sounds like a "real" song. I've never played it live. | |||
| February 26, 2005 | |||
| Fuckin' Birds | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:17 | |
| Hung over, still drunk, whatever. I wrote a song that was half about being hung over and half about Bird Flu. This is my monument to Tom Waits. I'll never be him, but I can try. | |||
| February 24, 2005 | |||
| Woke You Up | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:11 | |
| One minutes, eleven seconds of heaven. This song got it all started. I wrote it on the way home from the L.A. Hangout, and it pretty much tells the story in itself. I never saw Woke You Up girl again after this night. My only regret is that the recording quality is so shitty. | |||
| February 20, 2005 | |||
| Despair | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:56 | |
| Recorded my adlibbing after coming home from hanging out with Woke You Up girl. You can probably figure out how the night went from listening. I was... pretty drunk. I think the time was 5:40am. Piano sounds good, though. I'm damn good with my fingers while drunk. | |||

| Drunken adlib recorded from a Chicago bar piano onto my Dell notebook. A crazzzzzzzzy piano solo. | |||
| July 22, 2004 | |||
| Recovery | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:13 | |
| The first verse of a song I was making up as I went along. I need to finish this someday. | |||
| July 8, 2004 | |||
| Giselle | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:30 | |
| Fiddling with the guitar while watching the film Mona Lisa Smile, plucked this out in honor of my favorite actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal. There are words, somewhere, but I've never recorded them, and the song is a lot more complicated in my mind than in this recording. | |||

| 1. Underage Columbus Girl [May 2003] | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:35 | |
| 2. Calisa's Birthday [1 July 2003] | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:55 | |
| 3. Calisa's Birthday II [1 July 2004] | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 1:17 | |
| Calisa is a Farkette who, at the age of 15, inspired a flurry of activity that led Aeonite and I to write competing songs titled "Underage Columbus Girl." The song amused some people and so a month later I celebrated Calisa's 16th birthday (marking legality in Ohio) with a birthday song, and then another the next year. They're pretty lame, but I'm including them here for the sake of completeness. Underage Columbus Girl later became the song Jailbait. | |||

| Boner At The DMV | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:09 | |
| Wrote this for a tribute to Wesley Willis. It turned out far, far, far better than I expected it to. | |||
| April 27, 2004 | |||
| Lights In California | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:49 | |
| Written and recorded about actual events in a hotel room in Phoenix, AZ where a kung fu convention was taking place. Someday I'll have a band and I can give this some proper treatment. | |||

| We Wear The Mask | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 2:26 | |
| We Wear The Mask is a poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906). It's probably my favorite poem. I put it to music and sang it into my computer mic. Later, I redid it and used it in a performance (MP3 AAC) | |||

| Zerowing: The Motion Picture | Download mp3 or AAC | length: 0:57 | |
| Uhh... made this for Fark. It's a radio trailer for a nonexistent movie based on the Sega game. | |||
